Holiday Drive for Silver Key Seniors a Success
Happy 2022! As we celebrate the new year, we are excited to share the results of our 13th Annual Silver Key Senior Services Holiday Drive.
The Colorado Springs community faced another year of uncertainty in 2021, and the challenges wove us all a little closer together. Our friends and colleagues rose to the occasion once again to support a wonderful cause for our local seniors. The results were earth-shattering and surpassed even our lofty, some say “over the top,” expectations.
After we tallied up the donations received from our friends, we headed to Costco for our annual tradition: The Senger Design Group donation “matching spree.” This is easily one of our favorite parts of the holiday season. We dash through the aisles of Costco pushing flatbeds in search of the perfect items to round out the donations. It’s a joyous occasion!
Our good friends from Silver Key stopped by on that Friday morning to gather all the donations and celebrate with us. We shared some apple cider before lining up for our best “fire-line” to transport the donations out to their truck.
THE RESULTS for 2021
Donations received: 1,057 lbs
Senger Design Group matching donations: 1,057 lbs
Total donations by category:
Food = 1,672 lbs
Hygiene/sundries = 369 lbs
Pet food = 73 lbs
Combined Donation to Silver Key Seniors = 2,114 lbs
